Sanithia Parker (she/her) is a Student Researcher at the ARCH center. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of Washington School of Nursing and a current Biobehavioral Cancer Prevention and Control Fellow in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health. Her research is dedicated to addressing racial health inequities by examining how systemic and institutional forces shape health outcomes. She is particularly focused on cancer disparities among Black populations in the United States, exploring how policies, institutional practices, and historical power structures impact access to cancer prevention and screening services.
Sanithia’s work contributes to the development of equity-centered strategies aimed at improving cancer prevention and early detection for Black and other underrepresented communities. Her broader research interests include structural racism, health policy, and the use of community-engaged methods to co-create sustainable, justice-oriented policy solutions. A proud first-generation college graduate, Sanithia brings a deep commitment to health equity, social justice, and community healing. Outside of her academic pursuits, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, practicing hot yoga, and being in nature.
